I was looking at his writing and was wondering if anyone knws how to analyze handwriting. I think it would be interesting to know what his penmanship tells about him.

Nothing that you don't know yet, piperwest12. I couldn't say whether or not that signature is his. When you are signing thousand autographs you modify the strokes of your handwriting. When you sign with inicial only, you want to sign as fast as posible for different reason.
I can tell you that his strokes are usually thicker than those I can see and that the slaint of the signature is quite different. I have no doubts about the pressure etc... anyway... what strikes me most is the fact that that signature was for an auction and when you are required to sign for that kind of charitable you pay attention, you have the time to do it, if you have come there in a rush you have time to have a rest before signing... take a look at the signature on the celebrityhanprint card. that's his "real" signature. Even when he is signing in initials, in a rush, the signature differs...
On the other hand, I find it highly unlikely someone else had signed on his behalf, that is to say, it was a fake signature... who knows...
but one thing for sure... graphology is not an essay subject. I know that there are sites in which you can get his signature and handwriting analyzed for 60 euros, in specialized graphological offices. If you are interesting let me know...

I randomly bumped into an Italian site of Rachel Bilson where Orlando is linked as co star in her new upcoming project 'New York I love you'.
I made a little research myself and according to the production company this is the cast list:

He was going to be in the segment directed by Gus Van Sant but couldn't do it because of a clash with the filming of PotC 2/3. There was an interview with Gus where he spoke about it.

Le Marais (IVe arrondissement) — by American writer-director Gus Van Sant. A young male customer (Gaspard Ulliel) finds himself attracted to a young printshop worker (Elias McConnell [supposed to be Orlando]) and tries to explain that he believes the man to be his soulmate, not realizing that he speaks little French.

I would have thought Orlando would have been in this segment, and played Rufus Sewell's part.

While visiting Père Lachaise Cemetery, a young woman (Emily Mortimer) breaks up with her fiancé (Rufus Sewell), who then redeems himself with the aid of advice from the ghost of Oscar Wilde (Alexander Payne).

Ah yes...that was one of my favorite scenes as well. I also especially liked the scene with the young high school kids who were making fun of the muslim girl..and the one fell head over heels for her.

Jimmy Kimmel's talk show hits 1,000 episodes

It's taken a little more than five years, but Jimmy Kimmel is finally batting a thousand -- 1,000 episodes of "Jimmy Kimmel Live," that is. That his ABC late-night talk show is reaching that seminal figure no doubt comes as a surprise to many who might have doubted that a guy whose previous highest-profile credit was as co-host and writer of "The Man Show" could become a nightly mainstay on network television. Even at the time, Kimmel was quoted as saying, "Yeah, I'm the new lead-out for Ted Koppel. Crazy, isn't it?"

Well, yes, it kind of was a little nuts. But Koppel is long gone -- and we get the feeling that Kimmel is just getting warmed up. He's no longer "Jimmy Who?" but a known commodity in the showbiz community whose reputation as a great guy with the coolest greenroom in town precedes him. If the ratings haven't exactly taken off into the stratosphere (he still lags well behind Leno, Letterman and Conan in his 12:05 a.m.-1:05 a.m. time slot), the term "mainstay" must now be attached to the "Jimmy Kimmel Live" moniker.

So entrenched has he become that ABC is even giving Kimmel an extra half-hour of late-night real estate Thursday night in celebration of his 1,000th episode, running a full 90 minutes beginning at 11:35 p.m. It's his first-ever premidnight appearance on the network that has helped steadily transform the affable 40-year-old into a household name some 62 months after his show's Jan. 26, 2003, debut.

How has this happened? Kimmel will tell you he's put himself on the map the old-fashioned way: by working his butt off.

"A lot of guys get into this not realizing how much work it is, but I never had any illusions that I could just mail it in," Kimmel says. "It's hard coming up with stuff that's interesting and original night after night. I have a simple goal with this show, I think: to look back every three months or so and say the show is better now. I think we've pretty consistently been able to do that. Now, I look back at what we were doing at the beginning and I say, 'God, I can't believe how amateurish we were.'"

It was a grind at the beginning to be sure, Kimmel admits. He recalls feeling something like "a road comic going into Clinton, Iowa, and performing at the local comedy club. I had to prove myself every night. Once the audience is familiar with you and your rhythms, that makes it 100 times easier to sell a joke."

Kimmel also acknowledges that both he and his show were perhaps trying too hard at the start because of his inexperience at the game.

"I didn't understand the niceties of being a talk show host, what I was supposed to do and how to handle things," he says. "Every interview turned out to be my last with almost everyone. I'm still cleaning up a lot of that mess from the first three months of the show. We forced the Rock, Dwayne Johnson, to ride a dogsled out onto the stage. He didn't want to. My producer didn't want to hear that. It became an unpleasant thing. We were overly aggressive with people. You can't do that and build any kind of goodwill. Fortunately, I think we've turned it around."

Indeed, "Jimmy Kimmel Live" has. It's no longer the promotional pit stop of last resort. The A-list has come calling, reports executive producer Jill Leiderman. "We get Brad Pitt, Harrison Ford, Billy Crystal, Orlando Bloom, Cameron Diaz, George Clooney, Matt Damon -- when he's not bumped -- Will Ferrell, Justin Timberlake, Hilary Swank, Steve Carell. Those people weren't coming on before. And I think a large part of that is just word of mouth on who Jimmy is and what he delivers on a nightly basis. People are magnetically drawn back to the show now because it's such a positive environment."

Not that Kimmel has any illusions with regard to his place on the late-night gabfest playing field. There remains a definite pecking order, he insists, "and we're not at the top of it. I really don't expect too many people to do my show before they do Jay's. At least we're competitive now with human interest and sports guests. The A-list still does Leno and Letterman before thinking about everyone else, and that's the way it should be. But we're on the map, anyway."

While it's true that Kimmel's numbers don't yet justify his being held in quite the same esteem as his longer-serving competitors, "Jimmy Kimmel Live" has clearly struck a chord with younger adults, who respond to the host's low-key hip approach, believes ABC Entertainment president Stephen McPherson.

Sure, I was prepared for a big steak — that’s what I was at BLT Steak for. And when the housemade popovers arrived at the table, I was impressed — they were also big, as in softball-size. (Wait ’til you see the onion rings.) But then the waiter set down a huge Italian-made tin salt shaker that was the size of a beer stein. I was sort of shocked for a second, but then immediately tore into one of the warm, eggy Gruyère-topped popovers, slathered on some butter, grabbed that salt shaker and sprinkled on the sea salt. Using a salt shaker that big is mildly embarrassing, but everyone else was in the same boat (even Orlando Bloom two tables over). The popovers also were accompanied by a little card on which was printed the recipe. We’re going to try the popover recipe in the Test Kitchen. Results to come….

Some news about the Prince of Persia thingy - someone at the IMDB board read the following in today's News of the world:

Orlando Bloom has signed a £20 million deal to star in the next disney trilogy.

Brit Bloom will appear in £150 million saga The Prince of Persia: sands of time opposite new bond girl Gemma Arterton. his pal JOHNNY DEPP also gets a role.
The films, based on the computer game, see Bloom's prince and a rival nation's pinces (Quantum of Solace beaty Arterton) try and stop a ruler unleashing a goba sandstorm.

Filming starts in July in Morocco. A Source source said: "This is by far Orlando's biggest ever pay day and his female fans will get to see him in just a loincloth"

I have no idea how reliable this paper is - I found nothing on their online site, but maybe it's only in the print version. Does anyone of our English members have that newspaper?

Anyway, I really wouldn't mind seeing Orlando in nothing but a loincloth (Ok I wouldn't mind seeing him in nothing at all but that's not the point here)

Ehhh. I'm not putting much stock in that rumor. Not that I wouldn't want to see him in a loin cloth...but I have a feeling that he wouldn't want to be in an annother trilogy. Those take a lot of time, energy and effort.

I haven't been putting loads of stock into the Prince of Persia rumors to begin with, though I probably should give them a little more credit than I do. Just... the "casting options" that they've been talking about for weeks seem highly suspect. Zac Efron? Orlando? As the PRINCE OF PERSIA? Has anyone ever played that game in their life?

If it's true (and given that he's already officially slated for The Red Circle I'm not too convinced, but I'm wrong a lot), it's a poor casting choice. But we'll see.

Movie hunk ORLANDO BLOOM has landed the lead role in Disney's new PRINCE OF PERSIA adventure trilogy, in a deal reportedly worth $40 million (GBP20 million).
The 31-year-old star of Disney's Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise has allegedly beaten competition from Zac Efron to take the top role in the big-screen adaptation of the popular computer game Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time.
The first movie in the trilogy, to be directed by Jerry Bruckheimer, is due to begin filming in July (08) in Morocco.
